About Leland Iron Works

Leland Iron Works was the home and studio of the sculptors Bonnie Bronson (1940-1990) and Lee Kelly (1932-2022).

Purchased in 1963, the property included a farmhouse, dairy barn, and various outbuildings. The artists created a live/work environment where they maintained large studios and art gardens. Lee and Bonnie’s intentions were to restore and replant the land, and to integrate artwork, particularly sculpture, into outdoor gardens and living spaces.

During their lifetimes, Lee and Bonnie hosted events in their studios, loft living space and garden area, demonstrating that life was better with art and nature.

Today, Lee’s family continues to live on site and maintain the property and sculpture garden, including the resting places of Lee Kelly, Bonnie Bronson, and their son, Jason Kelly, who died in 1978.

Studio visits, events, and tours are available between April and October of each year. Click here for more information.
